Character Creation: Players will play themselves. So the question is, how do you stat yourself? In many game systems this might be a very difficult challenge. I remember playing an old game called Timelords where you played yourself – and you spent a day answering questions and testing yourself (such as seeing how much weight you can lift to determine your strength). We are not going to make it so difficult for ourselves.
Risus character statistics are very simple. A character is made up of a nice description and set of descriptive cliches with values between 1 and 5. A 1 means you are a pretty poor excuse at the cliche in question with a 5 being top notch. Starting characters get 10 levels to put between them. Having a 1 in something helps showcase that it is something you are not particularly good at.
